“ISU Junior Grand Prix in Figure Skating” concludes in Baku

The “International Skating Union (ISU) Junior Grand Prix in Figure Skating” has successfully concluded.

On the final day of the tournament  35 female athletes from 30 countries competed in the free skating program.

Based on the overall results South Korean skater Yuseong Kim claimed first place with a total score of 185.99 points, followed by Mayuko Oka from Japan, who took second place with 184.22 points, and Sophia Shifrin from Israel, who finished third with 176.95 points.

During the award ceremony medals were presented to the ice dance pairs and female skaters who performed in the free skating category.

The medals were awarded by Fuad Naghiyev, President of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, and Gunel Badalova, Secretary General of the Federation.

It should be noted that the Grand Prix was jointly organized by the State Tourism Agency, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, and the International Skating Union. A total of 92 athletes from 38 countries took part in the competition.

Azerbaijan was represented in the single skating discipline by Sabina Aliyeva, Leyli Akhundova, and Arina Kalugina, while Anna O’Brien and Drake Tong competed in the ice dance category.
